When we arrived at Avebury the whole tour group got off the bus and we assembled outside. Our tour guide Nick said that we have 45 minutes to explore Avebury. My parents and I walked over to a little new age shop and bought some postcards of Avebury. Also for 5 pounds I bought my first pair of dowsing rods. We then walked over to the town post office to mail a self-addressed postcard of Avebury. We then walked over to a little medieval church. it was actually quite nice inside with medieval staircases and the like. Then seeing that 45 minutes was almost up, we headed back to the parking lot and met up with our tour guide Nick. He gave a little talk about dowsing rods and we then went for a walk up to two standing stones (Point C on the Map Of Avebury). When these two standing stones are walked between with dowsing rods, the dowsing rods turn inwards and complete a full circle coming back to their original position. Nick explained this as being caused by ley lines, mysterious energy lines that run through the surface of the Earth. Avebury sits right on top of one. Then we continued on to another set of three stones. (Point F on the Map Of Avebury). When either of these stones were walked between with dowsing rods the dowsing rods would turn outwards completing circles again and again and again. After that my parents and I explored Avebury again and went to a convenience store and I bought my first bag of prawn (Shrimp) crisps (Chips). Then we went back to the parking lot and talked to Nick for a while then we got on the bus and headed for Glastonbury.
